Social Media Argument

I like this argument because it incorporates a factor of technology that I can relate to. Every day, as I scroll through Instagram or Twitter, I sometimes see a post about Kevin Hart or some sort of stand-up act. It makes sense that social media had both helped and hurt comedians along their career. Stand-up comedians with fame and money are the ones you see on Netflix, and this helps them. It also makes sense that this would hurt aspiring comedians because they don't have the capital to go digital.

Technology Argument

For me, my phone is everywhere I go, so this argument makes sense to me. I can watch what I want when I want instead of having to go see a performance in person. Also, with Netflix and YouTube, there are many different genres of TV shows and movies that I enjoy more than stand-up, and I think the invention of smart phones and computers have negatively impacted the stand-up industry.

Politics Argument

Every single time I'm on Twitter, I see something that involves politics so it makes sense that comedians would change their approach for performances to a more political one. Personally, I don't pay much attention to politics, unlike many others, and that may be the reason why I don't like stand-up comedy as much anymore.
